Ambient Intelligence & Interaction Laboratory (Amii Lab)

Ambient intelligence is the notion of integrating artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data science into every aspect of our lives in order for our environments to continuously understand, analyze, and interact with us seamlessly. At Amii, we work with state of the art technologies to achieve true user-centric computing and realize a fully interactive user-aware world.

News!

- Urgent: There is an open postdoctoral position (potentially two) in the lab with a starting date of September 1st. A good background in machine learning is required. Please email me at ali.etemad@queensu.ca if you're interested.

- We received the Best Paper Award (third prize) at CMBES 2018! Congrats and well done Gelareh!

- New accepted paper: G. Hajian, B. Behinaein, E. Morin, S. A. Etemad, "Improving Wrist Force Estimation With Surface EMG During Isometric Contractions", in Proceedings of the Canadian Medical and Biological Engineering Society Conference (CMBES)

- New accepted paper: G. Zhang, E. Morin, Y. Zhang, S. A. Etemad, "Non-invasive Detection of Low-level Muscle Fatigue using Surface EMG with Wavelet Decomposition", in 4oth International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (EMBS)

- We are proud to annoounce that the lab has received considerable new funding from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC), Canadian Foundation for Innovation (CFI), and Queen's University. These funds will go towards purchasing equipment and hiring new graduate students and postdoctoral fellows to work on cutting edge projects in the fields of AI, machine learning, smart homes/environments, IoT, and wearable devices.
